Files never leave your device
Compress a PDF to shrink its file size for easier sharing and storage — right in your browser. PDF Bunker reduces your file locally, so it is never uploaded to a server.
How it works
- 1Drop your PDF into the upload area, or click to browse and select it.
- 2Pick a compression level: Low keeps text selectable, while Medium and High rasterize pages for bigger savings.
- 3Click Compress now to process the file in your browser.
- 4Review the size saved, then your compressed PDF downloads straight to your device.
Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Compression happens entirely in your browser, so your PDF never leaves your device and is never sent to us or anyone else.
What is the difference between the compression levels?
Low does a structural pass and keeps your text selectable and searchable. Medium and High rasterize each page for much smaller files, but the text becomes an image and is no longer selectable.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Once the page has loaded, compression works even with your internet disconnected — the processing engine runs entirely on your machine.
Is there a file-size limit?
On the free tier each file can be up to 25 MB. Pro ($5/mo) removes the size limit and adds batch processing so you can compress many files at once.
